Kavaratti Island is the capital of
Lakshadweep. Island of Kavaratti
has a lovely beach where one can enjoy
both relaxation and sunbath. 52 mosques
are spread out over the island including
the most beautiful Ujra mosque.
This mosque has an ornately carved ceiling
believed to be carved from a piece of
driftwood.

enjoy swimming, snorkeling or water sports
near the beach Enjoy marine life exhibits
at the Marine Aquarium, and a vast
collection of specimens at the Museum.

See underwater life: View the

yourself wet, from the glass-bottomed boats.
One can also enjoy sailing in glass-bottomed
boats, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing.
The multi-colored underwater life in the
lagoons can be viewed through glass-bottomed
boats. Kayaks, wind surfers and sailing
boats are available on hire.
Go Diving: One who loves marine life
can visit the Aquarium, which has an
excellent collection of aquatic specimens.
The Dolphin Dive Centre is an attraction for
those who love to scuba dive.
How to reach Kavaratti?
You can reach Kavaratti from either Agatti
Island or Bangaram Island. There is a
helicopter/ship services from Agatti Island
to all other islands in Lakshadweep.
