Kashid is a beach town on the shores of
Arabian Sea, in the North Konkan region of
Maharashtra, India. It is located 30km
from Alibag and 135km from Mumbai on the
Alibag-Murud road.
Kashid is popular mainly because of its
white sand, blue seas, green mountains,
paddy fields, and rivulets. Kashid has a 3
km stretch of beach tucked in between two
rocky hillocks with Casuarina groves all
around the seashore.
This is by far the best beach in this part
of the Konkan region and though absolutely
deserted on weekdays, the town can attract
its fair share of week-end holiday makers.
There are a few of small hotels in Kashid
as the rest of the area is privately
owned.
This 3 km long beach houses all elements
required for beach stay. Tourists can
relax for a while from city hustle and
bustle on this white sandy beach.

Kashid is 135 Km from Mumbai and
30 Km from Alibaug. The drive from Alibaug to
Kashid is the prefect way to capture the
picturesque rural scenery en route.
Murud Beach:
This fishing hamlet with clear blue sea water
is one more option for beach lovers. It is
located a few km away from Kashid beach.
Janjira Fort:
This fort, the only one of its kind is located
offshore in the Arabian sea. This unconquered
fort belongs to the 17th century. Malik Ambar,
a minister during the reign of Sultan of
Ahmednagar constructed the fort. This marvel
of ancient engineering stands in spite of
ravaging winds and tides of the Arabian sea.
How to Reach Kashid Beach ? Mumbai : 135 kms (3 hours), Pune : 170 kms (4
hours), Murud Janjira - 18 kms, Alibaug - 30
kms, Kolad - 70 kms
Access: Buses are available to reach Kashid from
within Mumbai (Borivli, Dadar, Mumbai Central
and Thane) and Pune. Guests can also take
Catamarans from Mumbai to Alibuag (Oct-May)
and from there take local transport which are
readily available..
Kashid is now a popular weekend getaway
Ex-Mumbai / Ex-Pune and is visited all through
the year.
